MAPS Air Museum of North Canton, Ohio seeks a full-time executive director to provide leadership and direction within this all volunteer organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a person with a passion for aviation history and a commitment to continuous improvement of an exceptional military aircraft museum.
The successful candidate will work with the Board of Directors and an established corps of volunteers to implement the long-range business plan in order to ensure sustainability for the organization. Emphasis will be on increasing revenue and effective management of the volunteer and community resources. The Executive Director will be responsible for both financial and facilities management, including conservation and security of the museum’s collection. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who is able to articulate the mission and present a positive contribution to the community.
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in education and managing volunteers.
- Proven interpersonal and team building skills. Networking experience in fundraising and board membership.
- Fund development and corporate outreach experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to motivate, develop and manage volunteers.
- Skilled in basic office word processing programs and internet usage.
- Passion, enthusiasm, flexibility, common sense and an uncommon commitment to our mission.
